I have to add some random posts in here somewhere, right? Sometimes my mind is just what I call "random".  Ask my BF Jessica....I think I confuse myself sometimes when we chat because I just jump from one conversation to the next! :) And if you go back to pregnancy days....oh my randomness was out of control. So, I feel like I can share my true self with you now!
So here goes my first random post....

Some people have asked, where do you find the time? I admit, I am not the perfect mom that has a clean house, clean kids, and just some extra time to do some crafts. Who is that? Not me! Right now, I have a huge mound of laundry downstairs and instead of doing that or scrubbing the nasty kitchen floor, I decided to paint a dresser. :) Ha! And that is just how it goes. Luckily, my husband Jimmy doesn't say a word! Sometimes, I expect him to. Like when he comes home and there is a sink full of dishes...But he never does! I am blessed with a husband that is just happy with some food to eat and his kids playing by his side. Oh, and to see me happy!
He is my number 1 supporter! VERY BLESSED!

I am now a GOODWILL stalker! I will plan my day out so I can make a 5 minute dash in to see if there is anything that catches my eye. I CANNOT believe I just admitted that! Many of you know that my dad passed away in January. Not to be somber, but his passing has been one of the hardest events of my life. Jimmy and I have seen our share of some really tough times, but this one stabs my heart daily. I wish he could be around to see my blog too. He would be so proud of my "finds" and what I am doing. So...I know that he is smiling if he can see me now. He would be so proud to see me running out of a Goodwill. You see, this is one of my fondest memories of my childhood with him. He was obsessed with Goodwill. He used to drag me in, literally kicking and gagging because of the smell. I hated going. And now, I can't believe I check it out to see what I can find. Sometimes, I go out of my way to hit a store that I haven't been to for awhile. Admittingly, sometimes I still gag at the smell. But I have found some treasures that nothing more than a little LYSOL can fix. Ok, I still cannot believe I admit that! :)

Wouldn't it be fun to start a DIY girls night or club (even though I hate that word)! I am so excited to be meeting (or even finding out that someone I have known for years is really into DIY) people that love to craft, DIY, and just get creative in life. If you are one of those people, I would love to know. It would be so much fun to get together sometimes and share ideas.

This blog thing is so exciting! Right now, I have over 1280 pageviews on the blog! WoW! That actually blows my mind. Whether I end up just rambling on to a few of you that check in on my updates, or if it gets bigger and I get to do this more and more, it is so much fun to share my projects. That sounds so cliche but it is SO true! I hate the word "like" on FB or "follow" on the blog....but they are how you spread the word in this little blog world. So, don't forget to do that! It takes a few moments to set up to follow the blog but then it is super easy to comment on my posts...and I am loving the comments. It tells me to keep going with it... just for fun! I AM TRYING TO WORK OUT SOME KINKS (ok probably me just being completely naive with computers) SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!! WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO THE COMMENTS SECTION BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE HAVE SAID THAT IT IS CONFUSING TO POST COMMENTS. IT LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT I WOULD LOVE FOR SOME OF YOU TO TRY TO COMMENT JUST TO SEE IF IT WORKS. AFTER YOU TYPE THE COMMENT, PULL DOWN THE TAB AND CHOOSE NAME (OR IF YOU ARE A FOLLOWER OF THE BLOG, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT) AND JUST IGNORE THE URL PART...UNLESS OF COURSE YOU HAVE YOUR OWN WEBSITE OR BLOG! :)  I am adding a pinterest and FB button on the blog soon because I would love for you all to follow me there. Plus, I can get an idea of who is reading! :)

Ok, enough for today! :) More projects coming soon! :)

  1. This post makes me smile!!! Your blog is wonderful...truly inspiring to someone who has "suppressed" her urge for DIY for years out of fear of "doing it wrong." And lets even start on the "perfect" mom thing...my kids are literally outside with sand paper right now (: Thanks, Heather...for the inspiration, knowledge, and getting us going!!!

    1. Thanks Erin! I really was inspired by blogs too! I needed a little push to give myself the extra confidence to do some projects. Now, I just dive in and hope they end up working out! I am so glad you like it. We really should get together!!!! :)

  2. I like your blog! I do my fair share of Goodwill "dashing" myself! I added you as a favorite, I hope you take a peek at mine as well! I post lots of fashion-y things that are all styled around my thrift finds. ThriftyYinzer.blogspot.com
    Craft on! :)

I would love to hear what you think.... Please leave comments here! :)
